An Investigation Group of CPPCC to Qinshan NPP for Special Investigation |

From Sept. 11 to 12, an investigation group of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference leaded by vice chairman Li Meng of CPPCC came to Qinshan Nuclear Power Base to conduct a special investigation for ¡°relative matters to develop nuclear power in China¡±. This group is composed of many experts familiar with Chinese nuclear power such as Academician Wang Dazhong. This investigation is aimed to find out the current situation and gained achievements of nuclear power development in China, to gather the problems met in developing nuclear power, to offer consultative idea for nuclear power development program of the ¡°national 11th five-year plan¡±
On the afternoon of Sept. 11, the investigation group inspected the central control room of Qinshan NPP Phase II, conventional island of Unit 2, and had a distant view of building site of Unit 3 and 4. Mr. Li Yongjiang, the Chairman of the board of directors of Nuclear Power Qinshan JVC gave a briefing to the guests on operation conditions of Unit 1 and 2, and progress of the Extension Project.
On the morning of Sept. 12, the investigation group held an informal discussion with the leaders from Qinshan NPP, Qinshan NPP Phase II, Qinshan NPP Phase III and Sanmen NPC. The leaders made reports on NPP¡¯s construction, operation, etc. and offered some proposals to develop nuclear power in China.
