Chashma NPP has Stood Earthquake Safely in Pakistan

An unusual earthquake was happened at northern Pakistan on the morning of Oct. 8. During the earthquake, there were obvious shocks in the Chashma¡¯s site, and the buildings were shaken for 3-4 minutes. Because of the earthquake, the third refueling outage of the Chashma NPP was paused two days. But the on-site preparing works of pouring the first concrete for Chashma Phase II Project (C-2) did not halt. Based on the monitoring, during the earthquake the earth¡¯s surface horizontal acceleration in the site was not higher than one eighth of design choosing value, it is far away below the choosing earthquake-proof parameter. The buildings and technological equipment systems have stood the earthquake safely. At present, the earthquake and related aftershocks has been past, everything is all right on the aspects of C-2 on-site works and NPP refueling outage.
