At 15:08 of Oct. 18, followed the order from Mr. Chen Zhaobo, the board chairman of the Jiangsu Nuclear Power Co. Ltd. the load and unload machine with numerical control started up. Then at 15:35, the first nuclear fuel assembly was sent into the reactor pressure vessel and filled in its position safely. It means that Tianwan NPP with the largest capacity of nuclear power unit in China has entered the status with nuclear fuel, as well as an important node target has been realized.

The first loading of nuclear fuel at Unit 1 of Tianwan NPP should totally install 163 new fuel assemblies, 85 control rod clusters and 42 burnable poison rod assemblies. According to the requirements of “safety, accuracy, efficiency”, all of personnel involving in the fuel loading will comply with the loading procedure strictly, handle carefully and ensure success completely.
