The CNNC held a symposium for developing high technology industry during Nov. 24-25, 2005. Mr. Huang Guojun, the vice-president of CNNC stressed out that all of the units of CNNC must pay highly attention to develop high-tech industry, understand the strategic position of high-tech industry with principal part of nuclear technology application, stride a big step forward in developing high-tech industry to work out more contributions for CNNC’s economic growth.

It is reported, the CNNC formed the overall development thought to develop nuclear power, nuclear fuel and high-tech industry as the three mainstay industries. During the “Tenth Five-year Plan”, the CNNC’s high-tech industry got satisfactory development, and kept increasing rate of 10-15% annually, formed 6 major areas of isotope product, reactor technology application, nuclear instrumentation and equipment, radiation processing, characteristic chemical engineering and metallurgy and relevant equipment of environmental protect, and provided users with various products and services in nuclear technology application. All of these make a sound basis for further development of CNNC’s high-tech industry.
