Established upon the approval of the State Council, China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) is a large-scaled state-owned enterprise. Experiencing the Second Ministry of Machine Building, the Ministry of Nuclear Industry and the former China National Nuclear Corporation, CNNC is now composed of over 100 subsidiary companies and institutes, and has 20 sitting academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering working for CNNC. CNNC performs scientific R&D, construction, operation in various fields such as nuclear electricity production, nuclear fuels and nuclear technology application, as well as international economic cooperation and import and export businesses.
    Through nearly half a century’s development, CNNC has developed an exclusive and comprehensive system of nuclear science and technology. It is the main investor for and the biggest owner of all the nuclear power plants across the country, the major force of nuclear technology development, the supplier of nuclear power design and nuclear fuels and the most important provider of technical service for the operation of all the nuclear power plants in China, the specialized supplier of nuclear equipments and instruments and non-standard components and the technical organization to ensure the operation and safety of nuclear power plants.
