Strathmore Minerals Corp has purchased some 250 hectares of land
  2006-12-01
Strathmore Minerals Corp has purchased some 250 hectares of land in the Ambrosia Lake uranium mining district in New Mexico. The acquisition represents an important step in the company’s permitting activities for development of its planned uranium mining and milling activities at its Roca Honda project. Juan Velasquez, Strathmore’s Vice President of Environmental and Regulatory Affairs, said ‘the purchase of this property allows Strathmore to initiate the first step of the ‘Alternative Sites Analysis’ that is required by the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) prior to approving the location of a uranium mill and tailings disposal facility’. The Alternative Sites Analysis is an integral part of the licence application package that will be submitted to the NRC. Strathmore’s proposed mill will be located in the Grants, New Mexico area to process the ore that will be mined from several proposed future projects. (WNA,21/11/2006)
