Zarechnoye joint venture produced first tonne of uranium

| The Zarechnoye joint venture between Russia and Kazakhstan produced its first tonne of uranium on 7 December. Techsnabexport (Tenex) and KazAtomProm each hold 49.33% in the Zarechnoye joint venture, while Atomredmetzoloto of Russia and the Kara Balta Mining Combine of Kyrgyzstan each hold 0.67%. The projected capacity of the Zarechnoye joint venture is 1000 tU per year, which is expected to be reached in 2009. (Ux Weekly, 11/12/2006) |
