On July 15, 2008, CNNC and Qinghai provincial government achieved a framed agreement on the cooperation in exploring and exploiting uranium resources in Qinghai province. It symbolized that the cooperation between CNNC and Qinghai province began to go to a quick development stage. The vice-president of CNNC Mr. Qiu Jiangang and the vice-governor of Qinghai province Mr. Ma Jiantang signed on the framed agreement.

    On the signature ceremony, Mr. Qiu said that CNNC and Qinghai province would work together to exploit mineral resources and fulfilled a benign interaction between the economy of the nuclear industry and the economy of Qinghai province. Qinghai province was one of important provinces in western China, and was full of mineral resources and natural resources. CNNC paid more attention to sign the framed agreement with Qinghai province and hoped to plan the work of the uranium geology together. In the future, CNNC will make full use of the advantage on exploring the uranium mine and help Qinghai province finish the work of exploring and exploiting uranium resources.

    According to the framed agreement, CNNC will provide the technical support and service for Qinghai province to explore and exploit the uranium resources. Qinghai province will give CNNC some preferential policies.
