CNNC signed a framed agreement on strategic cooperation with the Government of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region
  2008-09-08

On Aug 28, 2008, CNNC signed a framed agreement on strategic cooperation with the Government of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in Baotou. The agreement is about the exploration and development of uranium resources as well as the nuclear technology application. Mr. Kang Rixin, President of CNNC, and Mr. Zhao Shuanglian, Vice-chairman of the Government of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, signed the framed agreement.

The geological exploration of CNNC in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region had gained the great breakthrough in three giant basins since 2000. A super-large sandstone-uranium mine was found by CNNC. As the important region of the Western Development, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region not only is abundant in uranium resources, but reserves other mineral resources such as the rare-earth, iron, and copper. It possesses the comparative advantages and policy environment which can develop the feature industries. CNNC has the special advantage in technology, talents, and equipment in the mineral exploitation. Signing the agreement will expand the mutual advantages, form a reciprocal and mutually beneficial situation, and achieve a co-win development between CNNC and the Government of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

Some leaders from CNNC and the Government of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region attended the signature ceremony.
