On Sept 11, 2008, Kang Rixin, secretary of the Party’s leading group and president of CNNC, and Wang Sen, member of the Party’s leading group, met Liu Guoqiang, vice governor of Liaoning province, and Cai Zhefu, vice president of China Datang Corporation. After paying RMB 50 millions of project funds in advance, CNNC will pay another RMB 50 millions to push the earlier work about Xu Dabu nuclear power project.

    Since October in 2006, CNNC has set up the preparatory office of Liaoning Xu Dabu nuclear power co., ltd. Now, all kinds of preparatory things are under progressing.

    The development of nuclear power needed more raw materials. As the large-scaled state-owned enterprise, which has an exclusive and comprehensive system of nuclear industry, CNNC can ensure to steadily supply the natural uranium and nuclear fuel in a long time. The supply can satisfy the requirement of a quick development of nuclear power.

    Liaoning province showed a positive attitude to this project.
